Abstract/Contents: | "Proper fertilization of turfgrass is one of the 'big three' in good cultural practices. Proper fertilization, watering and mowing are crucial to the development and maintenance of quality turf. A properly fertilized lawn will also tolerate heat, cold, and drought, and have better wear tolerance. It will also allow the turf to survive and recuperate from attacks from insects and diseases. A good fertilization program will supply a lawn with all of the nutrients it needs throughout the entire growing season..." Argues whether fertilizer applications should be in a liquid form or a dry/granular form. Also discusses quick release and slow release advantages and disadvantages. |
