Abstract/Contents: | In Italian ryegrass, illumination to extend daylength during autumn increased plant ht., plant wt. and leaf area and decreased the number of tillers and leaf width. In most cases treatment increased plant ht., tiller wt., shoot wt. and number of heading tillers. Cv. with low requirements for floral induction were more sensitive to autumn long-day treatment. Red light (wavelength 600-700 nm) was more effective than blue light, blue + red light or UV light. |
