Abstract/Contents: | "Selection of turfgrass species depends on several factors: the intended use of the turf", the soil type, the environmental sensitivity of the site, fertilizer application, irrigation, "and the amount of management time and expertise available... The intent of this article is to provide information on the types of grasses suitable for successful growth under low maintenance, low input regimes." Describes growth habits of Chewings, hard, creeping red, sheep, and tall fescues. Includes suggestions for proper selection and establishment of low maintenance, low input regimes. Also includes suggestions for choosing pest-tolerant grasses. |
