| Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study conducted to determine how the different management techniques of Blackhawk Country Club (BCC) and North Shore Country Club (NSCC) affected the growth of Poa annua. Main differences in management include nitrogen fertility programs, clipping collection, and irrigation. The study has not been completed as yet but some early conclusions are discussed. Without control, Poa annua numbers will increase. Clipping collection will help reduce numbers. Also, chemical controls will decrease Poa annua but at risk of injury to the turf. |
