Abstract/Contents: | "Buffer zones can give conservation benefits by reducing pollution of adjacent habitat, and by improving resource availability or habitat value within the buffer zone itself. The effect of pollution of aquatic and terrestrial non-crop habitats by sediments, nutrients and pesticides are reviewed, and the potential for additional benefits arising within buffer zones on farmland is considered, with particular reference to management prescriptions supported by the various AgriEnvironment schemes." |
