Abstract/Contents: | "Two formulations of wetting agents were evaluated for the control of localized dry spot (LDS) on an established creeping bentgrass/annual bluegrass golf green. Initial ratings showed a significant decrease in LDS at the highest treatment levels of Granular Primer which resulted in a significant increase in quality compared to the control plots. No significant differences in soil hydrophobicity were evident at any time when compared to the controls. The fact that localized dry spot existed in the thatch layer and not in the soil, indicated that the product had an effect on the thatch and not the soil. This might indicate that the product was intercepted in the thatch layer." |
