Abstract/Contents: | Forty-one different cultivars of crabapples were tested to determine their susceptibility to defoliation by the Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica). Cultivars Radiant, Red Splendor, Royalty, Liset, and Ruby Luster were first to be heavily attacked. Jewelberry, Harvest Gold, and Baccata v. jackii were almost completely resistant, while Halliana parkmanii, Red Jade, and David sustained only small amounts of damage. |
