Abstract/Contents: | States that the National Marine Fisheries Service has announced that Puget Sound Chinook salmon is "threatened under the Endangered Species Act." Describes a tri-county group which has been finding ways to save the fish on their own instead of turning the preservation operation over to NMFS. Discusses one city's "early action plan" which "calls for a long list of salmon-friendly actions." Lists misleading recommendations reguarding fertilizers and pesticides. Encourages golf course superintendents to get involved in the policy-making process. |
