Abstract/Contents: | Discusses "turfgrass management effects on ground water quality" in the areas of pesticide leaching and nitrate leaching. Summarizes the results of late fall fertilization, nitrogen source and timing, and the ARESTS facility project for nitrate leaching; and results from the ARESTS project for pesticide leaching. Results indicate that "in general, the highly water soluble N source, urea, was suspect to considerable leaching in the order of 27 to 42% of applied N." Concludes that use of these sources (such as urea) should not be use in ground water sensitive areas. |
