Abstract/Contents:"The release of new bentgrass cultivars for Southern golf course use has increased the need for local performance data. In 1993 this study was initiated on a golf course putting green built to USGA specifications. The study included 27 bentgrass entries and six blends in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Normal turfgrass performance evaluations following NTEP format were used. Additionally, turfgrass wear using a wear simulator, soil water repellence, and brown patch susceptibility following inoculation were assessed. Of particular interest is the performance of these cultivars during the most stressful growing conditions of July through September."
