Abstract/Contents: | "The bulk density of a soil is a combination measure of the particle density and how tightly packed the particles are in the sample. Under ideal conditions, the bulk density of a soil is a measure of soil pore space and can therefore provide important information on the degree of compaction on golf course greens. In this article, the theoretical basis behind the bulk density measurement will be reviewed and its possible applications will be discussed through presentation of data recently generated at California golf courses." |
