Abstract/Contents:"There is limited information on the effects of trinexapac-ethyl on different cultivars of various turfgrass species. The objective of this study was to determine the effects of trinexapac-ethyl on various cultivars of St. Augustinegrass [Stenotaphrum secundatum (Walt.) Kuntze.] Established plots of the following cultivars were utilized: 'Bitterblue', 'Delmar', 'Floralawn', 'Floratam', 'Jade', 'Mercedes', 'Raleigh', 'Seville', 'Sunclipse', and 'TR-6-10'. Trinexapac-ethyl was applied at three rates and an untreated check was the fourth treatment. Visual color ratings were taken 10 days after treatment. Color readings (L, a, and b) measured with a chroma meter were determined. Data for seedhead height, seedhead number, and leaf blade height were determined. There were cultivar responses at the different rates for several parameters measured."
