Abstract/Contents:"Fourteen buffalograsses from the 1996 NTEP buffalograss trial were established at TAES-Dallas for evaluation in July 1996. The most rapid establishment was noted for UCR-95, which covered 80% of the plot area within 4 months. 378, Midget and 86-120 had the lowest establishment rate. Stampede, Bonnie Brae, 86-120 and 86-61 had darker green color than others. Selections rated superior in fall color retention included Stampede and Prairie, followed by UCR-95, Midget and Bam-1000. High green-up scores in the spring were observed for Stampede, Bonnie Brae, Prairie, Midget, 86-61, 86-120 and Texoka. Stampede consistently rated in the top for its color quality and maintained the longest green color throughout the season. There were no significant differences between seeded and vegetatively propagated entries in leaf texture."
