Abstract/Contents: "Golf players use the dormant zoysiagrass or bermudagrass teegrounds in winter season, so the turfgrass take a heavy injury in small teeground. These teegrounds are almost changed [to] the bare ground in winter. Overseeding teegrounds are thought to evade this no good condition. This examination are [is] done in bermudagrass teegrounds at Ono Golf Club and Sanda Golf Club. We used next mixtured seeds:perennial ryegrass(80 g/m²), kentucky [Kentucky] bluegrass(20g/m²) and creeping bentgrass(4g/m²) at Ono G.C, and perennial ryegrass(80g/m²) and creeping red fescue(60g/m²) at Sanda G.C. The average of playing round number per day in this examination period are 153~165 at two golf courses. As a result, the twist wear [were] injured turfs of golf shoes by tee shot are recovered in 3~4 days, but cut injured turfs are not recovered. If teegrounds area will be 130~150 m², overseeded teegrounds are preserved the good condition to make use of a wood-club from Oct. or Nov. to Apr. or May. If it is to make use of a iron-club, the teeground may need area of 1.5~2.0 times. Overseeding is possible on zoysiagrass. Zoysiagrass greens are overseeded by perennial ryegrass at P.L. Country Club. However it is need double green to overseed zoysiagrass green, one is non-overseeded summergreen and the other is overseeded wintergreen. On zoysiagrass teegrounds, it is very difficult to overseed perennial ryegrass, but kentucky [Kentucky] bluegrass and creeping bentgrass may [be] used to overseed. In this case, teegrounds may have mixtured turfgrass of zoysiagrass, kentucky [Kentucky] bluegrass and creeping bentgrass. Especially it is little damage to use this mixtured turfgrass teeground in winter season, as a matter of course this teeground can [be] use [used] in summer season. This type teegrounds are testing at Hirono Golf Club. It is very important to maintain a non-bare conditional teegrounds in winter season, overseeding may be [a] very useful mean."
