Abstract/Contents:Discusses the lack of research on natural organic vs. synthetic organic fertilizers. Describes a study in which the objectives were "(1) to elucidate the relationships among the N-sources and foliar tissue N, soil microbial activity, and the severity of dollar spot, and (2) to evaluate the N-sources for their impact on soil organic matter accumulation." Results indicate that "after 6 years of applying natural organic N-sources, there was no great impact on soil organic matter levels in the top 2.0 in. or [of] soil."
