Abstract/Contents:Discusses the ways that ice cover can kill turf, and the various types of ice cover situations that can occur. Explains that many factors determine the lethal temperature threshold of turf, and it is impossible to reliably predict the absolute threshold at which low temperature kill will occur. Also suggests that "once the ice-snow thawing process begins it is important to ensure that the water is removed from the turf area as rapidly as possible."
