Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the need to develop amenities besides golf courses in master-planned communities. Asserts that although the number of golfers has remained stable in the past year, nearly 500 more golf courses were built. Concludes that "while people may not like golf, they like to live around it because of the great open space it brings to a community...but they don't want to just look at the course all day. There have to be other things to entice them to buy." Profiles the master-planned community of the Mews Golfing and Lifestyle Preserve near Houston, Texas, which will "offer residents golf, tennis, fitness programs, and social activities centered around a 19,000 square-foot, English country-style manor house." |
