Abstract/Contents: | Although oxadiazon (Ronstar) was not labeled for creeping bentgrass greens, it was the objective of this study to evaluate its potential damage to creeping bentgrass. A Penncross creeping bentgrass green (nursery) was treated with 3 rates of oxidiazon (1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 lb ai/A) each with 2 formulations (2G or 50WP). Oxadiazon, 1.31G, at 1.5 lb ai/A was also applied alone and in combination with bensulide (Scotts brand), 5.2SG, at 6.0 lb ai/A on 6/13/85. The plots were irrigated immediately after application and observed daily for potential phytotoxicity. Damage first appeared three days after treatment. A table provides visual color ratings on 8/18 and 6/27. Oxadiazon 2G, at the lowest rate had best color while oxadiazon, 50WP, at the middle rate had worst. |
