Abstract/Contents:Describes methyl bromide as "the most effective chemical used in renovation of warm-season grasses" and states that it will no longer be produced after January 1, 2005. Lists the primary concerns of sod growers and turfgrass managers caused by the loss of methyl bromide. Compares methyl bromide with alternatives in the areas of worker protection, efficiency, ease of application and cost. Lists headings in a "critical use exemption for methyl bromide use on turfgrass sod farms" that was submitted by Doug Fender, Executive Director of Turfgrass Producers Internationals in order to extend the production. Describes some of the highlights of the report.
