Abstract/Contents:Discusses the importance of dragonflies in the ecosystem of British wetlands. States that "dragonfly larvae provide a rich food source for fish and amphibians whilst the adult insect is both food for birds and a predator of small flying insects such as midges". Concludes that "dragonflies are a colourful and essential part of the British ecosystem...and only recently have begun to decrease in numbers; therefore a conservational interest must be taken...to prevent further loss".
