Abstract/Contents: | Briefly describes ways for golf courses to interest their members in birds. Lists the main habitat types found on golf courses and the bird species associated with them. Mentions how "the Beaconsfield Golf Club, for the BIGGA Environment Competition, proved to the judges how important natural woodland courses are; the club is an oasis of bird life in a largely agricultural landscape". Concludes that "some of the best habitats for British birds can be found on golf courses and it only takes a little extra management to attract some of the most interesting species around". |
