| Abstract/Contents: | Presents research conducted to "evaluate the use of bispyribac-sodium for selective control of Poa annua and Poa trivialis in cool-season turfgrasses." Reports that "seasonal studies conducted at Riverton Country Club in 2002 and 2003 have determined that late spring or early summer applications of bispyribac provide the highest levels of Poa annua control with the least amount of creeping bentgrass injury, compared with early spring or fall applications." Reports that "the ability of bispyribac to provide high levels of Poa annua and Poa trivialis control when applied in late spring/early summer, combined with previous observations that creeping bentgrass can be safely overseeded in treated areas within two weeks, shows the potential of this product for converting fairways to higher populations of creeping bentgrass." |
