Abstract/Contents: | Brief article on study of "seven grasses seeded to single plots in September 1978, to observe their performance when managed for putting greens. The trial was established particularly to observe the performance of the varieties Prominent, Manitoba, Penneagle, and Orbica. These were all new varieties not previously evaluated at this location. Orbica, a colonial bentgrass, was inadvertently included as, at the time, its species designation was unknown to us." Penncross, Emerald creeping bentgrass, and Kingstown velvet bentgrass were also included. Includes a table of variety, quality and winter color ratings. |
