Abstract/Contents:Discusses various "types and varieties of fine fescues and ryegrass available" and describes the most effective ways to use these types of fescues in turf areas. Compares Kentucky bluegrass varieties and fine fescues and states that "one of the problems encountered in transplanting fine fescue sod has been its intolerance to the use of large quantities of water needed to care for the sod after transplanting." Describes ryegrass as "a cool-season bunch grass best suited for areas having mild winters and cool, moist summers." Contrasts various types of new turf-type ryegrasses and older type ryegrasses.
