Abstract/Contents:Article relates the results of sulfur testing done at the Hillcrest Country Club which showed that: 1) one pint flowable sulfur per 1000 sp. ft. will not burn grass with spring and summer applications. 2) It is possible to cut salt and sodium index of the soil in half with six applications of sulfur at two week intervals. 3) Fall and winter applications of sulfur are wasteful due to purging of winter rains. And 4) Sulfur is the best and safest way to reduce alkalinity. Also found that preemergence crabgrass control can be attained with postemergence applications of Methar 30.
