Abstract/Contents:States that "in many countries throughout the world, wind erosion has depleted the fertility of the soil, and in some it has transformed the fertile soils into sandy deserts." Describes surface wind and equilibrium forces on soil grains, including forces at threshold of soil movement and forces during soil entrainment. Describes the cycle of wind erosion and soil properties that influence wind erosion. Provides methods for the wind erosion control and defines the wind erosion equation. Concludes that substantial progress has been made in the solution to the problem of wind erosion "due to better techiques, more favorable financial resources, and more earnest desire on the part of everyone to conserve the soil."
