| Abstract/Contents: | Dr. Shearman explains that "the opportunity to publish turfgrass research information in HortScience and the Journal of American Society for Horticultural Science is an important contribution to the discipline of turfgrass science, and should be a continuing process. However, I am concerned that this opportunity may be running into difficulties." Suggests that "one of these difficulties may be related to the fact that turfgrass science is affiliated with another professional society which has journal publications of its own, and still another difficulty may arise from the lack of individuals to act in the review capacity." Editorial reply includes "ASHS has long published articles on turf science and will continue to do so" and that "turf researchers are blessed in having so many journals willing to publish their results." |
