Advises readers to "relevel the heads...[because] sprinklers will come out of vertical alignment and often settle below the surrounding turfgrass surface." Advocates the replacement of worn nozzles, stating that "worn nozzles result in poor distribution uniformity and inflated precipitation rates." Advises readers to "standardize sprinkler heads and nozzles...[because] it is not recommended to mix differing types of heads or nozzles within a given area." Details the advantages of adjusting pressures to optimum levels. Concludes that "if all the above tips and tricks are used, the sprinkler's ability to perform accurately will be much improved, and these cost-effective solutions will have a significant impact on improved distribution uniformity." |
