| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses issues to consider when deciding on fertilizers for the golf course. Explains that natural organic fertilizers "have their strengths and weaknesses, just as any category of products does." Discusses the ash content of natural organic fertilizers and the problems that they could cause on golf greens. Suggests that natural organic "products can and perhaps should be used in moderation and only after the superintendent knows more about the physical characteristics of the fertilizer being used." Describes the best conditions in which to apply natural organic fertilizers. Discusses the environmental benefits of natural organic products. |
