| Abstract/Contents: | "A method for the design of sprinkler irrigation systems of irregular geometry is presented in this paper. The method allows for severe elevation changes and different discharges at the sprinklers. A software package (TURF) has been developed based on this method and is presented here. This software allows the designers of irrigation systems to design and evaluate irrigation design alternatives interactively. Given sprinkler and pipeline distribution, the program can be used to: 1) calculate the pipe diameters and pressure distribution in a turf irrigation network based on a maximum velocity criteria, or 2) calculate the pressure distribution given the pipe diameters. The software can be used with systems of any geometry and for any topography." |
