Abstract/Contents: | Warns that "subtle symptoms of incorrect N [nitrogen] fertilization may be recognized, or be noticeable only after the turf has undergone stress." Describes research conducted on plots of Kentucky bluegrass and reports that "the recovery from summer drought was influenced by timing of nitrogen fertilization." Concludes that "for the best year-round cool-season grass vigor, use a N fertilizer program that conserves carbohydrates and enhances root development." |
