| Abstract/Contents: | Foliar is a liquid fertilizer manufactured by Allied Chemical containing 12% N, 4% P2O5, 4% K2O, 0.5% S, and 0.1% chelated Fe. This test was initiated to observe whether in addition to nitrogen, each to the other nutrients, when added alone to nitrogen, enhanced turf quality on central Iowa soils. The fertilizer was tested on 'Baron' Kentucky bluegrass. Treatments consisted of Foliar (N+P+K+S+Fe), N, N+P, N+K, N+S, N+Fe, and control. Treatments were applied at 6-8 week intervals throughout the growing season. Overall turf quality was not appreciably increased by applying more than nitrogen alone. |
