| Abstract/Contents: | Describes effective ways to manage turf heat stress and states that the "first part of the turf plant to suffer [during the warm weather season is] the root system". Discusses several early symptoms of turf heat stress and addresses the necessity of turf canopies. Compares the benefits of warm season greens during warmer temperatures throughout the summer with cold season greens. Describes ways to correctly indicate turf canopy temperatures and discusses the relationship between soil temperatures and canopy temperatures. Recommends several different pieces of equipment used to monitor canopy temperatures and describes ways to implement a temperature monitoring program. |
