Abstract/Contents: | Discusses technical advances regarding the use of plastic netting in sod production. States that "the principal role of plastic netting is to reinforce sod and make possible an earlier harvest." Describes studies conducted at the University of Delaware showing that "sewage and solid waste products can be used with wetting to both lighten the sod and reduce the removal of topsoil." Concludes that "laminating the netting with lightweight paper that decomposes rapidly has made it easier to cover the netting with soil or waste products." |
