| Abstract/Contents: | "Manilagrass (Zoysia matrella) is a widely used warm-season turfgrass species, for which no regeneration system is available. Callus induction from nodal segments and regeneration were studied. The results show that high quality embryogenic callus with high regeneration frequency can be induced on callus induction medium containing 2 mg L-1 2,4-D and 0.1 mg L-1 6-BA. The calli became green and plantlets regenerated after transfer to regeneration medium containing 0.5 mg L-1 6-BA under light condition. Roots developed on hormone free medium. The regenerated plants were morphologically normal and grew well in soil." |
