Abstract/Contents:Presents a study to evaluate the characteristics of a good polo ground, while developing a standard to measure the quality of polo grounds through the Hurlingham Polo Association. Evaluates a number of turf factors that impact the polo game, including dimensions, smoothness, slope and undulation and other factors. Results include that "the study was successful in identifying a standard set of criteria that grounds should achieve in order to be granted high goal polo status." Concludes that the findings "will prove extremely valuable as they are applied to polo grounds throughout the country."
