Abstract/Contents: | Emphasizes the importance of making golf courses more user friendly for the public. States that "one of the main problems is that we can lose sight of the principal end user of our golf courses." Evaluates the positioning of hazards on golf courses. Discusses the impact of fairway conditioning on ball roll and golf play. Concludes that "a tough golf course is not necessarily a good golf course. An element of fear is no bad thing but the challenge must be commensurate with levels of skill. Therefore, flexibility in golf provision is the key to success." |
