Abstract/Contents:"The purpose of this study was to gather stakeholder input for the most Frequently Asked Questions about basic turfgrass management in the Turf for Texans Master Gardener program curriculum. A proportional stratified sample (n=66) of county agents, master gardener program coordinators, and volunteers from 11 Texas Cooperative Extension districts responded to this study. Participants identified, ranked, and rated 115 Frequently Asked Questions for nine instructional modules in turfgrass management. It is recommended that lawn health, differences between warm and cool season grasses, turfgrass selection factors, soil testing, effects of improper mowing, lawn clippings and thatch, when to fertilize, frequency of irrigation, and lawn diseases serve as the topics in a turfgrass management curriculum. Based on this research, specialists should provide "quick" answers while conveying the importance of a year round comprehensive management plan."
