Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the selection of mowing equipment, stating that "though an important factor in maintaining healthy, well-groomed turf is a logical mowing schedule with properly adjusted and sharpened reels, more importantly, the right reel must be used for the right application." Describes possible uses for reel mowers, multi-use mowers, fine cut rotary mowers, and greens mowers. Concludes that "superintendents are judged by their courses and the condition of the green is, without question, the number one place where that is judged. A judicious choice of mowers can only stand the superintendent in good stead." |
