| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses a study to determine the effectiveness of mixing perennial ryegrass with Kentucky bluegrass to control Fusarium blight, caused by the fungus Fusarium roseum. States that "perennail ryegrass is not suceptible to Fusarium blight" and resembles Kentucky bluegrass in color, texture, and overall appearance. Presents the results of the study noting higher turf scores in bluegrass/ryegrass mixtures than bluegrass alone. Concludes that "mixes of Kentucky bluegrass and perennial ryegrass were effective in practically eliminating Fusarium blight." |
