Abstract/Contents: | The group of red fescue cultivars, collectively becoming known in the U. K. as slender creeping red fescue, includes several interesting types. For at least some cultivars the botanical name F. rubra ssp. litoralis seems preferable to ssp. trichophylla. The turf value of fifteen cultivars is reviewed in respect of tolerance of close mowing and wear, short of growth, tolerance of salt and mine waste, seasonal appearance and disease. |
