Abstract/Contents: | Briefly discusses a recent legal case involving non-target effects of pesticide application. States that "the [Supreme] Court's decision in the recent Bates v. Dow AgroSciences case may be a colossal mistake, opening a Pandora's Box of problems for pest management professionals (PMPs) and manufacturers alike". Summarizes the case as a group of Texan peanut farmers who filed a lawsuit against Dow because "their crops were damaged by the application of a pesticide despite being applied in accordance with its label". Lists the potential outcomes of the case and emphasizes the importance of "manufacturers and PMPs [sticking] together as the Bates decision is hashed out in the courts". |
