Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the emotional attachment golfers have to trees and describes how tree clutter can have a negative effect on golfers. States that "pioneers of the classical design era did not believe that golf needed trees, so original sites were usually windswept and barred." Addresses the concern of Dutch Elm Disease and how the disease is eliminating trees. Suggest several proper ways to remove trees and mentions that "superintendents should be prepared to answer membership inquiries." |
