Abstract/Contents:Describes the maintenance practices at Springfield Golf and Country Club in Springfield, Virginia. Emphasizes the importance of having a good maintenance area, stating that "if the maintenance building and area around it are poor, the entire operation will suffer. This is brought out by the morale of the crew, condition of the equipment, the repair facilities, the storage area, and others." Discusses the roles of disease control and education in managing for stronger turf. Concludes that perseverance, education, and patience "seem to be good places to start for managing stronger turf."
