Abstract/Contents:Describes the rebuilding of greens including the process and cost. Discusses how to determine if a green must be rebuilt or merely resurfaced. Provides several steps, including "digging test holes in greens to evaluate the integrity of the drainage system and profile"; "correctly taking undisturbed soil cores"; "utilizing lab services to evaluate undistrubed soil cores"; and "deciding on a surface renovation procedure." Also describes several ways to proceed with a resurfacing project. Concludes that "knowing the construction quality of your greens and researching renovation alternatives with an accredited lab could save your course money and downtime, and create much improved putting surfaces."
