Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the population growth of the Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) on Wilmslow course "due to wet, warm and humid weather" during the summer. States that "the mushroom which for centuries has been used by the Lapps as an intoxicant and hallucinogen." Briefly discusses the historical use of the mushrooms and describes the symptoms caused by ingesting this fungus. States that "the effects of consuming Fly Agaric are very unpredictable...and at least one death is attributed to the mushroom." |
