Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of compost for its "potential as fertiliser material as well as soil conditioning properties to aid soil moisture retention" and the use of processed sand pitches "as a material for the construction and maintenance of second and third generation artificial sports surfaces." Mentions tests of compost to determine turf quality of compost-treated turf. Also mentions two trials to process sand on turf pitches. States that one trial will be used to "test the artificial pitches for ball rebound, traction, hardness, fibre integrity, force reduction and energy restitution" and the "second trial will assess the performance of processed sand as a top dressing for natural turf football fields." |
