Abstract/Contents:Discusses legislation around the United States that suggests or requires schools to "adopt integrated pest programs as a way to reduce pesticide use." States that only 60 percent of schools surveyed by California's Department of Pesticide Regulation use such a program but 40 percent still use "insecticide sprays for ant problems." Discusses the issues surrounding integrated pest management programs. States that California's Healthy Schools Act has to way to enforce the use of integrated pest management programs, but many schools are using the law to reduce pesticide use.
