Abstract/Contents:Describes the "development of improved perennial ryegrass [Lolium perenne L.] cultivars...at the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station." Concludes that "althouth significant improvements have been made on perennial ryegrasses, increased genetically stable resistance to gray leaf spot, crown rust, dollar spot, pink patch, red thread, and brown patch is still needed. In addition, increased heat tolerance, cold hardiness, and the ability to survive under ice sheets for extended periods are also necessary."
