Abstract/Contents: | Describes the application requirements for turf disease control. Defines turf as "a perennial plant ecosystem continually exposed to the 'elements' and fungal pathogens, year in, year out. The disease-susceptible green portion of the plant is relatively small compared with the stem base, thatch and root system, even by pasture grass standards [and] is subjected to the most frequent regime of cutting, damage and stress." Presents a list of requirements that should be conducted before applying fungicides. Discusses the importance of choosing a multi-facet sprayer to increase the quality of the turf. Examines the use of spray timing and how that is impacted by a variety of disease and environmental conditions. |
